Thea Trousers Sewing Pattern - By Tilly and the Buttons

We label our sewing pattern sizes with generic numbers from 1 to 15. Please measure your bust, waist, and hips to determine which size(s) fit you best. The pattern instructions include a link to an article on fitting tips to help you tailor the pattern to your unique shape, including how to combine multiple sizes.

MODEL GARMENT SIZES - Sinead (pink trousers and blue trousers) is wearing a size 11 (UK 26) at the hips graded to size 9 (UK 22) waist. Man Yee (white cords) is wearing a size 2 (UK 8).

Lining fabric for pockets (see below): 0.4m (½yd) x 140cm wide or 0.6m (⅝yd) x 115cm wide
Matching thread
Interfacing (similar weight to your fabric): sizes 1-6 0.4m (½yd), sizes 7-15 0.5m (⅝yd)
15cm (6in) closed end zip
15mm (⅝in) wide button with shank
Sewing machine and basic tools, incl buttonhole foot and zip foot or adjustable zip foot

sizes 7-10: 2.4m (2 5/8yd)
sizes 11-15: 2.6m (2 7/8yd)
Full-length trousers:

sizes 1-5: 2.5m (2 3/4yd)
sizes 7-10: 2.7m (3yd)
sizes 11-15: 2.9m (3 1/4yd)

Cropped trousers:

Medium-weight woven fabrics, such as linen, twill, denim, corduroy, triple crêpe, wool suiting.

Lining fabric for pockets: light- to medium-weight cotton, viscose (rayon), or lining fabric such as cupro (Bemberg).
